Color Makes a Difference!

Welcome to my new “Irene’s Inspirations” Blog. I will be sharing about some of my inspirational insights on Color, Decorating, Redesign, Life, and more.

We just returned from Southern California for some family Graduations. We were fortunate to stay at one of my husband’s friend’s home in Frazier Park, CA. When I travel, I look for any unique uses of color or decorating and architectural features in a region. We all enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Dream Castle Café Bakery and had a delightful time. This was not the run of the mill café and breakfast place. We were welcomed with big polka dots on the sidewalk and various uses of color. Since Color is one of my passions, it was a wonderful treat for me! As soon as you walked through the doors you saw color used in a variety of ways. The counter was painted with polka dots, the order sign was colorful, the valances and décor were full of color and polka dots. The owner, Lorraine, told me that since the economy has been stressful, she decided to add splashes of color in her shop to put her customers in a better mood and forget about any challenges they were facing and enjoy themselves for a while. She has created an atmosphere that was inviting, fun, whimsical and definitely joyful! Check out some of the pictures of her place. There even is a Tea Room that can be rented out for special events and she painted her storage shed to disguise it as a little cottage. I am always interested to learn what people are doing with Color. Hopefully, I can inspire you to see how much color can affect and improve any space when it is done with planning and meets your objective.

What do you think about this colorful Café?
